Safety Culture

February 2020 | Dallas Area

EHS professionals, researchers, faculty, staff, and students will gather in the Dallas area to discuss how to build safety culture within academic institutions. Throughout the symposium, you will consider how to incorporate and encourage safety culture at institutions, share best practices, and learn how to effectively collaborate.

Interested in being a speaker? CSHEMA is accepting session submissions through November 1. Sessions should be 45 minutes to one hour in length and can be a lecture format, a panel, or roundtable discussion.

Please consider the following questions or topic areas as you create your abstract:

  • What is safety culture? How do we define safety culture? Or is it a culture of safety? Where do you start?
  • How do you measure safety culture?
  • How do you change or improve your institution’s safety culture?
  • How do you get your institution's leadership involved? How do you get students and overall community involved in safety culture?
  • What are your success stories and best practices? What is working for your institution?
