Application Requirements
To be considered for the award, students must meet the following requirements:
Meet the above eligibility criteria
Complete the application form
Submit a current transcript with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5
Write and submit a one-page essay (1” margins, single-spaced, 10 point font) relevant to the topic given below
Essay Prompt:
College and university Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) departments play various roles to ensure the health, safety of personnel (safety in laboratories, fire & life safety inspections at residence halls, fire drills, severe weather preparation, emergency response, safety orientation in undergraduate teaching laboratories, etc.) As an undergrad student, you may have interacted with your EHS office in one or more areas above. Provide at least two examples of EHS initiatives at your institution. Additionally, provide two innovative and feasible examples of ways that you can help promote these initiatives among your peers, faculty, and staff at your institution.

Essay composition: Writing technique rather than content; points will be scored as follows (0-5 points – Thesis Statement; 0-5 points – Introduction and Conclusion; 0-5 points – Supporting Arguments; 0-5 points – References/Research; 0-10 points – Overall Composition of the essay i.e., Grammar, Spelling, Transitions, Etc.)
